HVAC Supervisor (Facilities Management)

About the Role
We are actively seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Supervisor to join our Facilities Management team. This critical role involves overseeing all HVAC maintenance and operational activities at a large-scale industrial facility in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of HVAC systems in a demanding industrial environment where compliance and uptime are paramount.
Key Responsibilities

• Supervision & Leadership: Directly supervise, schedule, and lead a team of HVAC technicians. Provide technical guidance, conduct performance reviews, and ensure a safe, productive work environment.
• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance programs for all HVAC systems (e.g., chillers, AHUs, cooling towers, DX systems, ventilation). Diagnose complex faults and oversee prompt corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all HVAC activities strictly adhere to local regulations, industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE), and company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies. Conduct regular safety briefings and site inspections.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for HVAC-related matters. Liaise effectively with facility managers, clients, and other departments to coordinate work and report on system status and performance.
• Inventory & Resource Management: Manage HVAC spare parts inventory, tools, and equipment. Prepare technical reports, maintenance logs, and work orders. Assist in budgeting and resource planning.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and enhance maintenance procedures. Stay updated on new HVAC technologies and best practices.

Key Requirements

• Education: Diploma or higher in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a directly related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity. Previous experience in an industrial facility (manufacturing, oil & gas, utilities, large plants) is highly preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of complex HVAC systems, controls, and refrigeration cycles. Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems) is a strong advantage.
• Skills:
• Strong Leadership & Communication: Excellent ability to lead a technical team and communicate clearly with technicians, management, and external stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC issues under pressure.
• Organizational Skills: Proficient in planning maintenance schedules, managing resources, and maintaining documentation.
• Certifications: Relevant HVAC certifications (e.g., from ASHRAE, EPA, local authorities) and a valid UAE driver's license are advantageous.
