Job Description

Telephone Operator (Arabic Speaker)
Reports to: Front Office Manager / Assistant Manager
Job Purpose:
To serve as the first point of telephone contact for the hotel, providing a courteous, efficient, and professional service to all callers, both internal and external.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer all incoming calls promptly and courteously, using the standard greeting.
  • Direct calls to the appropriate extension, department, or guest room.
  • Provide assistance and information in both English and Arabic.
  • Handle guest inquiries, take messages, and provide basic information on hotel services, facilities, and events.
  • Activate and manage wake-up calls for guests accurately.
  • Assist guests with international and long-distance calls, providing information on charges.
  • Monitor emergency alarms and systems and follow established emergency procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and room numbers.
  • Assist the Front Office team with administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Hotel Telephone Operator or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic is mandatory.
  • Clear, pleasant, and professional phone voice and diction.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the hotel's layout, departments, and personnel.
  • Ability to handle multiple calls and tasks simultaneously with patience and efficiency.
  • Proficiency with telephone switchboard systems.
