Job Title: Team Leader - Soft Services

Reports To: FM Executive - Soft Services
Job Summary:
The Team Leader for Soft Services is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for the direct management and daily oversight of the soft services operational team. This includes cleaners, janitorial staff, landscaping crews, and waste management personnel. The Team Leader ensures that work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Daily Team Supervision: Assign daily tasks, responsibilities, and zones to the soft services team. Ensure adequate staff coverage for all shifts and areas.
• On-the-Job Training & Guidance: Provide direct instruction and coaching to team members on proper cleaning techniques, chemical usage, safety procedures, and the use of equipment.
• Quality Control Inspections: Conduct daily walk-around inspections of the facility to check the quality of cleaning, waste disposal, and other soft services. Take corrective action where standards are not met.
• Health & Safety Enforcement: Ensure all team members adhere to safe working practices, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and are aware of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
• Equipment & Inventory: Monitor the condition of cleaning equipment, report faults, and manage the stock levels of cleaning consumables and materials.
• Performance Monitoring: Provide input for team performance reviews and address any performance or conduct issues in line with company policy.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience (3+ years) in a supervisory role within a cleaning or soft services environment.
• In-depth knowledge of cleaning methodologies, chemicals, and equipment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices in a janitorial/cleaning context.
• Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and lead by example.
