Role Summary
The Structural Inspector - Dubai, UAE will support Parsons Corporation on a major rail project by supervising the construction of facilities along the alignment, including depot buildings, the Main Power Substation (MPS), and Traction Power Substation (TPS). The role involves monitoring contractor performance, inspecting structural works, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards. This position requires prior experience in rail construction projects with a focus on facilities and substations.

What You'll Do

• Supervise contractor activities for depot buildings, substations, and associated facilities
• Conduct structural inspections including soil compaction, steel tests, concrete slump, compression, and coring
• Monitor foundation installations to ensure correct bearing capacity and alignment
• Inspect painting, insulation, and other finishes for coverage and compliance with specifications
• Oversee contractor and subcontractor labor to ensure professional workmanship
• Verify alignment and balancing of equipment within facility systems
• Review and contribute to quality control reports and safety documentation
• Witness welder qualification tests and other facility-related inspections as required
• Identify non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly
• Support preparation of safety practices, progress documentation, and reporting
• Provide daily oversight to ensure work is carried out in accordance with drawings and specifications

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil or Construction Engineering
• Minimum 7 years (Diploma) or 5 years (Degree) of experience in structural or facility construction supervision
• Mandatory experience in rail construction projects, particularly depots and substations
• Certification in welding, concrete, or electrical inspections preferred
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures, quality assurance, and project specifications
• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation
• Demonstrated experience in contractor supervision and managing compliance with schedules and quality standards
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
