Sommelier - Cala Vista - Madinat Jumeirah
Role Summary
Jumeirah Mina Al Salam at Madinat Jumeirah is hiring an experienced Sommelier to elevate the guest wine experience at Cala Vista, one of its premier dining destinations. This role is ideal for a wine professional passionate about curating memorable pairings, maintaining world-class cellar standards, and delivering refined service in a luxury resort setting.

Core Duties

• Lead daily wine service, offering expert guidance to guests and coordinating with the front-of-house team for seamless experiences
• Ensure accurate wine stock rotation, storage, and temperature control, minimizing waste and preserving quality
• Recommend updates to the wine list based on guest feedback and current inventory
• Participate in staff briefings and tastings to improve team knowledge and service confidence
• Maintain detailed wine chiller logs and inventory records, supporting monthly audits
• Deliver high-level service during busy periods, managing table-side wine suggestions, pairings, and refills

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sommelier in a 5-star hotel or fine-dining restaurant
• WSET certification required; additional sommelier qualifications are a plus
• Fluent in English; European languages preferred
• Familiar with wine POS systems like Micros and booking tools such as Sevenrooms
• Comfortable working in a multicultural, fast-paced luxury environment
