Job Description

The Sofa Manufacturing Factory Foreman is responsible for managing and supervising all operations related to sofa production, including framing, upholstery, foam cutting, stitching, and finishing. The foreman ensures that production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:1. Supervision & Team Management:

Lead and supervise all sofa production teams including carpenters, upholsterers, tailors, foam cutters, and polishers. Assign daily tasks and monitor team performance to meet production schedules. Provide technical support and hands-on guidance where needed. Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to factory policies.

2. Production Oversight:

Ensure efficient workflow across all sofa manufacturing stages (frame making, foam cutting, fabric cutting, stitching, upholstery, and quality checking). Coordinate with the production planner to meet daily and weekly output targets. Minimize production delays by anticipating issues and resolving them quickly.

3. Quality Control:

Inspect raw materials and finished sofas for quality, design accuracy, and durability. Ensure compliance with product specifications and customer requirements. Report defects or quality issues and implement corrective actions.

4. Equipment & Materials Management:

Ensure proper maintenance and use of production tools and machinery (e.g., staple guns, sewing machines, foam cutters). Monitor inventory of materials such as fabric, foam, wood, and accessories. Coordinate with the storekeeper for timely material requisition.

5. Safety & Compliance:

Enforce safety rules and ensure proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment). Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free workspace. Conduct routine safety checks and report any unsafe conditions or practices.

6. Reporting & Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of production output, material usage, worker attendance, and overtime. Report daily progress, delays, or issues to the Production Manager. Assist in evaluating worker performance for appraisals or disciplinary action.
