Senior HVAC Technician
Job Title: Senior HVAC Technician
Department: Facilities Management / Maintenance
Reports To: Facility Engineer / Maintenance Manager
Summary:
The Senior HVAC Technician is a lead role responsible for overseeing the HVAC team's activities, handling complex technical challenges, and ensuring the highest standards of workmanship. This position requires advanced troubleshooting skills, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of sophisticated HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead, mentor, and assign tasks to a team of HVAC technicians. Provide on-the-job training and ensure work is completed efficiently and safely.
• Advanced Troubleshooting: Serve as the primary technical expert for diagnosing and resolving complex HVAC system failures, including issues with chillers, VRF/VRV systems, building automation controls, and air handling units.
• Technical Guidance: Provide expert guidance and support to junior technicians, assisting them with challenging repairs and system diagnostics.
• Quality Assurance: Review completed work by the team to ensure it meets quality standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Driving License Requirement: Utilize a valid UAE driving license to lead site visits, respond to critical calls, and procure necessary parts or equipment.
• System Optimization: Analyze system performance and recommend improvements for energy efficiency and reliability.
• Vendor Coordination: Liaise with vendors and suppliers for technical support and specialized parts, ensuring correct specifications are met.
• Compliance: Ensure all HVAC work practices comply with UAE regulations, particularly regarding refrigerant handling (e.g., EPA 608 or equivalent standards).

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 5+ years of comprehensive experience in the HVAC field, with a proven track record in a senior or lead technician role.
• Valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
• ITI or Diploma in HVAC or Mechanical Engineering is required; additional advanced certifications are a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of split units, FCUs, chillers, VRF/VRV systems, and building management system (BMS) interfaces.

Technical Competencies:

• Expert-level troubleshooting skills for complex mechanical and control system issues.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in interpreting complex wiring diagrams, schematics, and control sequences.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
