Overview

URGENT Expression of interests urgently required - Our Client is completing a Tender for Services EOIs needed by Tuesday 24th of August mid-day.

Our Client, a Consulting Services Company specialising in Upstream Oil and Gas seeks a Senior Consultant/Advisor to support and work with various functions within their Clients Upstream and wider group of companies, targeting the operators sustainability and growth vision to be a low carbon energy producer. Applicants are invited with a strong track record of GHG/CO2 emissions abatement, an understanding of the Upstream oil & gas business and proven capability in project management and execution. This is a 12-month contract and our Client will provide Visa, flights, accommodation etc. and an attractive Day Rate.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities: The candidate will provide consultancy services in the following areas:

  • Carry out necessary studies to prepare a detailed Green House Gases(GHG) emissions baseline report at an equipment, unit, plant level per asset for existing operations by engaging with the various OPCOs.
  • Carry out necessary studies to prepare a detailed future emissions profile scale-up with production growth at an asset level.
  • Conduct studies to Benchmark the upstream Company internally with the group OPCOs and also with international peers in the same domain with similar operations to establish the baseline asset position.
  • Drive idea / initiative generation at asset level, ranking and prioritizing for further maturation.
  • Identify abatement opportunities in future and ongoing projects by organising energy efficiency, emissions reduction workshops.
  • Generate a register of asset and equipment specific emissions reduction plan complete with baseline, targets, implementation costs, benefits, budget requirements and timeline.
  • Across all OPCOs, rank all opportunities to identify low cost-high impact items by developing project business models.
  • Set OPCO level targets and where possible at an asset level. Engage OPCOs to validate feasibility and / or propose new targets.
  • Abatement projects program: Define project concepts per asset equipment, conduct feasibility studies, and detailed design to establish detailed project costs, project schedule for execution.
  • Conduct regular reviews to track and monitor project progress and upward reporting to the management.
  • Set targets for OPCOs during Annual Business plan cycle and ensure abatement budget requirements (CAPEX / OPEX) are included.
  • Integrate the abatement projects with decision processes of VAP, business plans etc.
  • For difficult or challenging abatement programs, develop alternate solutions which may include technological changes to asset.
  • Identify new and future next generation technologies for emissions abatement.
  • Promote awareness of end-to-end value chain emissions reductions.
  • Emerge best practice in CO2 policy, frameworks and project development.
  • Define investment opportunities to improve the business case for overall CCUS project economics.
  • Develop the Companys GHG/ CO2 emissions reduction program as per sustainability strategy.
  • Identify prevailing international Carbon Credits survey and forecast, issue annual report.
  • Build capabilities and skill pool on the subject.
  • Leverage digitization and establish partnerships with institutions of international repute.
  • Lead Upstream Directorate in delivering 2030 and 2050 Carbon strategy.
  • Identify area of growth, value creation, synergize opportunities, business optimization and standardization to ensure growth and sustainability of the upstream business and ensure maximization of the Companys value to Abu Dhabi and the world as a low carbon energy producer
Preferences

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
  • Highly experienced in oil and gas upstream sector working on strategic projects essential.
  • Hands-on experience in strategic planning and implementation of CO2 projects essential preferably on both the supply and demand side.
  • Strong background in strategy formulation, development and implementation essential.
  • Experience and skills in advising on Energy Transition essential preferably on the application of CCUS/Blue Hydrogen and Net-Zero Carbon projects.
  • Experience and skills in ESG (environment, social and governance) related matters highly desired.
  • Reservoir and / or Operations, Maintenance, Integrity experience will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in Project Management, Facilities Design, Concept Engineering, FEED etc. highly desired
  • Experience in activities across the Upstream value chain highly desired.
  • Sound understanding of the key drivers of Upstream operational, technologies and financial performance with emphasis on Economic Modelling and Evaluation highly desired
  • Appreciation of developments in the external environment that could provide opportunity / threats to the Company.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as you will liaise with stakeholders across many levels, divisions and OPCOs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills ability to relay technical knowledge and concepts in a coherent and friendly manner.
  • Previous experience working in the Middle East advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English essential. Arabic advantageous
