  • To manage the financial health of a new venture within the Early Learning Centre segment, ensuring effective and efficient resource allocation. This role is integral to the financial success and operational efficiency of the institution, focusing on budget management, financial planning, and procurement processes in the education sector.
Financial Management and Reporting:
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and advise on financial planning.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, analyse financial data, and present findings to senior management.
  • Ensure adherence to financial and tax regulations and standards specific to the education sector.
  • Work closely with department heads to forecast financial needs and provide strategic financial guidance.
  • Communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for various departments, ensuring optimal allocation of resources in line with our educational goals, including cost forecasting and control.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and optimize resource utilization without compromising quality of education.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with allocated budgets.
  • Monitor budget variances and report significant issues to management.
Accounting and Auditing:
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Support centre managers with up-to-date account information and fee collection status
  • Monitoring of outstanding fees by coordinating with centre administrators/managers on collection of fees.
  • Manage weekly cash flow along with future cash flow projections.
  • Provide general financial advice to the ELC\xe2\x80\x99s ensuring that problems are dealt with at the earliest opportunity.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain an organized and updated filing system for all financial documents.
Procurement and Vendor Management:
  • Oversee the procurement process, from vendor selection to negotiation of contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with procurement policies.
  • Continuously assess and improve financial and procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiate contracts and manage procurement processes.
  • Conduct market research to find the best products and suppliers in terms of value, delivery schedules, and quality.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is preferred.
Additional Information
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and standards in the education industry.
Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in the education sector.
  • Proven experience in budget management, financial reporting, and procurement within the education sector.
Attributes and Behaviours:
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, manage time effectively, and communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Adherence and compliance with financial & VAT regulations.
  • Ability to continuously assess and improve financial and procurement processes, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support and advise centre managers and collaborate with department heads.
