JOB TITLE: SENIOR COST CONTROLLER

Reporting Structure: Reports to: Finance Manager

Primary Functions: Ensure timely and accurate preparation and presentation of yard and projects performance reports. Lead and manage all activities pertaining to project Control / Cost Control to ensure the compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Evaluate operating results as they affect the financial position and make recommendations for cost reduction and profit improvement. Address audit queries and prepare and review audit reports in coordination with respective parties such as the internal audit function, external auditors etc. Ensure accuracy of project progress and yard performance and their compliance with applicable regulations and agreements, as necessary. Maintain the financial accounting system (chart of accounts, classification and cost codes assignments etc.) and review computer transaction listings and other accounting control documents in order to identify and check any unusual items and to generate accurate end-of-period reports liaise with Finance Team. Manage and oversee all project controls activities and liaise closely with Finance Department. Prepare a cost forecast at project completion based on an estimate-to-complete for the remaining work and registered expenditures & commitments. Manage all aspects of change orders/variation orders of projects and coordinate with various parties. Regularly analyze project cost/quantity trending/progress data, forecast trends potential trend from this data, raise issues and advice corrective action. Regularly analyze discipline performance, manpower, based on physical, progress, rates and performance. Resulting in cost forecasts per discipline, execution center and the total project. Prepare and/or direct the preparation of internal and client cost reports (including close-out reports asset-breakdowns etc.) Set-up and maintain a change management system and/or guide the preparation of such system. Supervise and/or work on multiple projects if required. Leads the invoicing process with the clients as well as billing forecast. Provide expertise in cost engineering tools and techniques. Be familiar with material control, estimating and planning & scheduling, and project accounting techniques. Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes and to recognize and communicate project issues proactively. Contribute to the development of the budget, and monitor its expenditure, while ensuring the optimal utilization of all available resources. Ensure accurate allocation of the budget and establish a Cost Baseline Evaluate and analyze a cost report, detect issues, and effectively communicate the project's cost performance, issues/ concerns, & recovery plans to the project team

Participate in developing the Finance policies, procedures, and system, and ensure their proper implementation to support achieving the different set targets and plans. Provide ethical and responsible decisions. Knowledgeable in Total Cost Management Concepts & Terminologies Carry out any other duties as directed by the Managing Director.

Qualification, Experience and Job Skills: Qualification Bachelor's degree in Finance or Engineering A Certification from an accredited institution is a plus (IFRS) Experience: 5-10 years of related experience in a similar position, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
