Quality Control Coach
Position: Quality Control Coach
Department: Coaching / Football Operations
Reports To: Defensive Coordinator, Offensive Coordinator, or Special Teams Coordinator
Objective:
We are seeking a highly detailed and analytical Quality Control Coach to join our coaching staff. The primary role of the Quality Control Coach is to support the coordinators and position coaches by breaking down film, preparing strategic reports, and ensuring that all game plans are built on a foundation of accurate and insightful data. This position is a critical entry-point for a career in professional coaching and requires relentless work ethic, football intelligence, and a passion for the X's and O's.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Film Analysis: Break down opponent and self-tape film, focusing on tendencies, formations, personnel groupings, and play-calling patterns.
  • Data Compilation: Create detailed reports and charts for the coaching staff, highlighting key trends (e.g., down and distance tendencies, red zone play calls, blitz packages).
  • Playbook & Scout Team Support: Assist in the creation of the weekly offensive, defensive, or special teams game plan and scout team scripts.
  • Self-Scouting: Analyze our team's performance to identify strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies that need to be addressed or concealed.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize cutting-edge football software and data analytics platforms (e.g., Hudl, Sportscode, XOS) to create video cut-ups and presentations.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage the distribution of game plan materials, playbooks, and practice schedules to players and staff.
  • Practice & Meeting Preparation: Assist in setting up meeting rooms and practice drills as directed by the position coaches.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Previous experience as a player or student assistant at the collegiate level is highly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of football strategy, schemes, and terminology.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency with video editing and sports analysis software.
  • Ability to work long, irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative staff environment.
  • High level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive team information.
