Position Overview
The Project Management Lead - ADNOC Abu Dhabi will manage and oversee the execution of assigned oil and gas projects to ensure delivery in line with HSE standards and the Group Value Assurance Process (GVAP). This role is accountable for achieving scope, quality, cost, and schedule objectives while managing project risks, change processes, and stakeholder relationships. The position also includes responsibility for budgets, departmental development, and people leadership.

Core Duties

  • Develop and implement project management frameworks, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with international best practices and HSE standards
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large and complex projects that provide strategic value to ADNOC and its stakeholders
  • Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and government authorities to ensure project milestones are achieved
  • Oversee reviews, approvals, and implementation of GVAP processes, including workshops and progress certifications
  • Monitor and evaluate assigned projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with budget, scope, and contractual obligations
  • Provide timely project status updates, manage disputes with contractors, and implement lessons learned to enhance performance
  • Lead project risk identification and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring risks are reported and controlled in line with company policies
  • Manage project change processes, ensuring compliance with ADNOC Engineering Standards, Value Assurance Process, and business requirements
  • Develop and oversee operational plans, budgets, and cost control measures for the department
  • Contribute to performance management by cascading KPIs, monitoring results, and promoting a performance-driven culture
  • Support succession planning, Emiratization, and professional development programs to build talent pipelines within the department
  • Recommend organizational improvements, innovation initiatives, and process enhancements to drive operational excellence
  • Ensure HSE compliance, sustainability integration, and delivery of safe operations across all projects
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 12 years of experience managing large, multidisciplinary oil and gas projects, including FEED, EPC, and other contracting strategies
  • At least 6 years in supervisory or leadership roles within project execution
  • Strong knowledge of GVAP or equivalent value assurance processes and project QMS procedures
  • Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project or Primavera
  • Familiarity with oil and gas legislation, HSE standards, and project governance frameworks
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills with a proactive mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead diverse project teams
  • PMP certification or equivalent professional project management training preferred
