Job Description

Job Purpose

To plan, optimize, and control

furniture manufacturing processes

to ensure efficient production, consistent quality, optimal resource utilization, and timely delivery in line with technical drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Control

Develop and implement

production plans and schedules

based on project requirements. Convert

shop drawings and specifications

into production workflows. Coordinate daily production activities across departments (cutting, machining, finishing, assembly). Monitor production output and resolve process bottlenecks.
Manufacturing & Process Engineering

Define

manufacturing methods, routings, and SOPs

for furniture production. Optimize use of machinery (CNC, panel saws, edge banding, spray booths). Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste. Support new product development and prototype production.
Technical & Quality Control

Interpret technical drawings, material specifications, and finishes. Ensure products meet

quality standards and tolerances

. Conduct in-process inspections and support final quality checks. Implement corrective actions for quality or process deviations.
Materials & Coordination

Coordinate with stores and procurement on

material requirements

. Ensure correct materials, hardware, and finishes are available for production. Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
Team & Shopfloor Coordination

Coordinate with supervisors, foremen, and operators for smooth production flow. Provide technical guidance to machine operators and carpenters. Support training on new processes and machinery.
Reporting & Documentation

Maintain production records, logs, and technical documentation. Prepare daily/weekly production reports. Update process sheets, work instructions, and SOPs.
Qualifications & Experience

Education

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in: Production Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Technology
Experience

3-7 years

experience in

furniture manufacturing or joinery

Experience with

modular, bespoke, or commercial furniture

production
