PLUMBER
Job Title: Plumber
Reports To: Plumbing Supervisor, Project Manager, or MEP Coordinator
Summary: A Plumber is a skilled tradesperson specializing in installing, repairing, and maintaining systems used for potable (drinking) water, sewage, drainage, and gas in various building projects. They interpret blueprints and building codes to ensure systems are functional, safe, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:

• Installation: Assemble, install, and secure pipes, fittings, and fixtures (e.g., sinks, bathtubs, toilets, water heaters) for water, gas, drainage, and HVAC systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
• Maintenance & Repair: Inspect plumbing systems for leaks, corrosion, and other issues. Diagnose problems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret architectural drawings, schematics, and isometric drawings to plan the layout of plumbing systems.
• Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to local, state, and national plumbing codes and regulations, as well as safety standards.
• Tools and Equipment: Use a variety of tools including pipe cutters, threaders, benders, wrenches, soldering and brazing equipment, and power tools.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with other trades (e.g., electricians, carpenters) to avoid conflicts and ensure efficient project progression.
• Testing: Perform pressure tests on pipe systems to check for leaks and ensure system integrity.
• Customer Service: Communicate clearly with clients, supervisors, or homeowners to explain issues, proposed solutions, and costs.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a technical school program or a recognized apprenticeship.
• Journeyman or Master Plumber license as required by state/local law.
• Proven experience as a plumber with strong knowledge of plumbing systems and codes.
• Ability to handle physical labor, including lifting heavy objects, working in confined spaces, and standing for long periods.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
