Job Description

Spare parts procurement will manage the end-to-end process of identifying, sourcing, and purchasing spare parts and components for heavy transport vehicles, ensuring timely availability, cost-efficiency, and alignment with technical requirements and maintenance schedules.

Requirements:

Source and procure heavy vehicle spare parts (e.g., engines, gearboxes, brake systems, suspension parts) from approved local and international vendors. Ensure the selection of quality parts that meet the operational standards. Request and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery. Place and follow up on purchase orders based on maintenance schedules and stock levels. Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new sources for parts. Evaluate supplier performance based on price, quality, delivery time, and service. Coordinate with vendors for lead times, urgent deliveries, warranty claims, and product availability. Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure proper stock levels and part availability. Avoid overstocking and ensure critical parts are always available to reduce vehicle downtime. Maintain accurate records of orders, delivery receipts, part numbers, warranties, and supplier documents. Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and company procurement policies. Coordinate with customs and logistics teams for clearance of imported parts. Work closely with workshops and maintenance teams to understand part requirements, vehicle specifications, and compatibility. Provide technical input to ensure correct parts are ordered for specific models or equipment.

Safety & Compliance:

Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and follow safety guidelines. Follow company safety policies and wear protective stuff (gloves, goggles, etc.). Ensure proper handling of hazardous cleaning chemicals. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

Technical Diploma or bachelor's in mechanical engineering, Automotive Technology, Supply Chain, or related field Minimum 3 years' experience in automotive spare parts procurement, preferably in heavy transport or commercial vehicles Knowledge of parts for trucks, trailers, buses, and construction vehicles is essential Strong negotiation and vendor communication skills
