Job Description

Job Summary:
The Parts Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of parts, components, and materials required for production, maintenance, or operational needs. This role ensures timely procurement of quality parts at competitive prices while maintaining strong supplier relationships and optimizing inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement & Sourcing:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors for parts and components.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Process purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of parts.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier performance to secure the best deals.
2. Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
  • Maintain optimal stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to forecast demand.
  • Track orders and ensure on-time delivery to meet operational needs.
3. Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Resolve supplier issues (delays, defects, pricing disputes) promptly.
  • Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations.
4. Quality & Compliance:
  • Ensure procured parts meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Verify supplier certifications and compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records for audits and reporting.
5. Cost Control & Reporting:
  • Analyze procurement costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare reports on procurement activities, savings, and supplier performance.
  • Assist in budget planning for parts procurement.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (automotive, manufacturing, or industrial sectors preferred).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in procurement (e.g., CPSM, CIPS).
  • Familiarity with lean procurement or Just-in-Time (JIT) principles.
Work Environment:
  • Office-based with occasional visits to suppliers or warehouses.
  • May require overtime during peak procurement cycles.
