PAINTER
Job Title: Painter
Department: Construction / Finishing
Reports To: Painting Foreman / Site Supervisor
Job Summary:
A Painter is responsible for applying paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and structures. They prepare surfaces, select and mix colors, and apply coatings to protect materials and enhance the aesthetic appeal of a space.
Key Responsibilities:

• Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, filling cracks, and applying plaster to create a smooth, clean base. Mask off areas that are not to be painted.
• Application: Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. Apply primers and sealers to ensure proper adhesion and durability of the topcoat.
• Color Mixing & Matching: Mix paint and stain to achieve the desired color and consistency, often following specific color formulas or matching existing shades.
• Wallcovering: Hang wallpaper and other wall coverings, ensuring patterns are matched and applied smoothly without bubbles or wrinkles.
• Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain all brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other painting equipment.
• Safety: Ensure proper ventilation in work areas and adhere to safety procedures, especially when working at heights on ladders or scaffolding.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience as a Painter.
• Knowledge of painting tools, techniques, and various types of paints (e.g., water-based, oil-based, epoxy).
• An eye for detail and design to deliver high-quality finishes.
• Knowledge of surface preparation and correct application methods for different surfaces.
• Good physical condition with the ability to stand, bend, and stretch for long periods.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions for exterior projects.
