Role Description:
The Modeler is responsible for preparing accurate 3D models and detailed drawings for precast structural elements, including walls, beams, columns, slabs, and other components. The role requires a strong structural background in precast systems and the ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
Role Responsibilities
Model precast elements in the Tekla Structures program, incorporating all required accessories, reinforcements, and connection details.
Prepare detailed shop drawings derived from the models, ensuring all necessary fabrication and installation information is accurately provided.
Coordinate effectively with MEP and architectural models to ensure full design compatibility and resolve any discrepancies.
Apply technical knowledge and experience in precast products to ensure accurate modeling and adherence to precast system standards.
Review and interpret design briefs, sketches, and specifications prior to commencing any modeling activities.
Maintain, organize, and archive completed models and drawings (both in hard and soft copy) in line with departmental policies and documentation standards.
Develop structural connection details in accordance with design drawings and instructions provided by the structural designer.
Demonstrate a proactive and adaptable mindset with the ability to learn quickly and continuously improve.
Educational Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a Diploma in Structural Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in structural or precast modeling
Proficiency in Tekla Structures
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong computer literacy and the ability to work effectively with various design and modeling software
