Job Purpose:
The Mason is responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing structures made of brick, block, stone, and concrete. This role is crucial for preserving the building's exterior and interior structural integrity and aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry units to build or repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures.
• Mix mortar and grout and apply it to secure masonry units.
• Use tools to cut and shape bricks, blocks, or stone to fit around windows, doors, and other openings.
• Repair and repoint crumbling or damaged mortar joints in existing masonry work.
• Pour, smooth, and finish concrete for floors, sidewalks, foundations, and patios.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine specifications and calculate materials required.
• Ensure work is level, plumb, and aligned according to specifications.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment and ensure a safe worksite.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as a Mason, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• In-depth knowledge of masonry materials, tools, and techniques.
• Ability to read technical documents and blueprints.
• Good understanding of basic math and measurements.
• Excellent physical condition, with stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Knowledge of safety protocols when working at heights and with heavy materials.
