Mason (The Architect of Durability)
This is not about slapping mortar between bricks. We need a craftsperson who builds legacies in stone and concrete--structures that will stand for generations.
The Desperate Reality: We have crumbling retaining walls, patios with dangerous settling, and chimney stacks that are one storm away from collapsing. Cheap, quick fixes have failed. We need an artist who understands the strength of materials and takes pride in work that is both beautiful and permanent.
Core Mission: To restore and create masonry structures with unparalleled attention to structural integrity, craftsmanship, and aesthetic detail.
Detailed, Gritty Responsibilities:

• Rebuild failing structures from the foundation up: properly excavate and pour footings, install drainage, and lay block or stone with precision that ensures water management and longevity.
• Execute complex brick and stone patterns (e.g., running bond, herringbone, cobblestone) with consistent, clean mortar joints that are expertly tooled and washed.
• Mix mortars and grouts with a deep understanding of material properties (e.g., type N, S, or M) to match historical work or meet specific structural demands.
• Repair and re-point historic masonry with sensitivity, carefully matching original mortar color and consistency to preserve the building's character.
• Install segmental retaining walls, paver patios, and walkways with engineering-grade base preparation that prevents settling and heaving for decades.
