Marine Superintendent - RoRo Pax & Tug Fleet Operations
DP World's P&O Maritime Logistics is hiring a Marine Superintendent to oversee the operational and technical management of the RoRo Pax vessel Norbank and tugs operating in the spot market. Based in Dubai, this role ensures vessels operate efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with international standards and client contracts.

Key Responsibilities
Ship Management
  • Ensure full operational and statutory compliance for fleet vessels
  • Oversee vessel inspections, dry dockings, installations, and technical upgrades
  • Collaborate with Masters and Chief Engineers to address operational or crew issues
  • Review safety meeting minutes, vetting reports, and ensure effective follow-up
  • Conduct sea-riding audits and vessel visits to maintain high standards
  • Support emergency preparedness including ship-shore drills
Financial Management
  • Monitor vessel operating costs to ensure cost efficiency
  • Assist with annual budgeting and expense tracking
  • Ensure compliance with contractual financial controls
Business Development Support
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and service improvements
  • Assist Commercial and BD teams in contract renewals and new project bids
  • Explore growth avenues by networking with port authorities and stakeholders
Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead subordinate teams across operations and technical departments
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs
  • Foster strong communication between ship crew and shore-based management
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility
  • Ensure vessel operations comply with ISM, ISPS, and ISO frameworks (9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Review incident reports and ensure closeouts and corrective actions
  • Conduct audits and ensure compliance with all internal HSEQ standards
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
  • 1st Class Motor Certificate of Competency (mandatory)
Experience:
  • Extensive experience in shore-based ship management and marine operations
  • ISM/ISO/ISPS Auditor accreditation highly preferred
Skills:
  • Strong leadership and crisis management capabilities
  • Excellent financial and operational planning skills
  • High-level communication, report writing, and stakeholder management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and marine operations software
  • Sound understanding of international maritime laws and safety systems
