Monitor and manage daily performance of tug machinery and auxiliary systems
Identify and report mechanical faults or anomalies to the Foreman Tug Fleet / In-Charge
Execute major and minor maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter cleaning, and leak repairs
Maintain engine room cleanliness and ensure machinery is serviced in accordance with safety protocols
Maintain accurate records of engine spare parts inventory and submit material requests when needed
Ensure all engineering activities comply with Drydocks World maintenance standards and schedules
Inspect materials before use and report any damage or deficiencies
Participate in training programs and skill enhancement sessions as required by the department
Work within defined timelines to meet department maintenance goals
Foster strong working relationships with team members and management
Support operational continuity through adherence to daily task responsibilities
Job Requirements
Minimum 12th grade with science background; marine diploma is a plus
STCW.3 (Engine) restricted certification required
3-5 years of experience working in tug operations, preferably in a port or marine services environment
Strong knowledge of dual-fuel diesel engine systems
Experience with preventive maintenance procedures and spare parts inventory management
Ability to identify and repair common engine faults
Good communication and teamwork skills with a commitment to safety and quality
