Reports To: Logistics Manager / FM Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Loading Dock Coordinator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the facility's loading dock and receiving area. This role coordinates the scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments, manages the flow of goods, and ensures compliance with security and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:

• Dock Scheduling & Traffic Management: Schedule and coordinate all truck arrivals and departures to prevent congestion and maximize dock efficiency.
• Receiving & Dispatch: Oversee the loading and unloading of goods. Verify shipment accuracy against purchase orders and shipping manifests. Sign for deliveries and report any discrepancies or damages.
• Documentation: Accurately complete and file all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading, packing slips, and receiving reports.
• Safety & Security: Enforce strict safety rules in the dock area. Ensure dock plates, vehicle restraints, and safety barriers are used correctly. Monitor the area for security and prevent theft or loss.
• Equipment Oversight: Ensure material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) in the dock area is operational and used safely. Report any maintenance issues.
• Coordination with Internal Teams: Liaise with warehouse, inventory, and other internal departments to ensure timely transfer of received goods.

Qualifications and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a shipping/receiving, logistics, or warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of dock operations and logistics procedures.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment; forklift certification is often required.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail for checking documentation and goods.
