Linux Systems Administrator
Job Description
ROLE:
Setup, Maintain and Administer high availability Linux servers, ensuring its deployment and security. RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Monitor and manage all Linux servers in the data center
2. Set up and maintain in-house servers and systems with latest system and security updates
3. Installation, setup, configuration and maintenance of Java Application Servers, Firewalls, and PostgreSQL Database Servers with routine back ups
4. Set up High Availability, Replicated and Load Balanced application servers
5. Daily maintenance/administration of multiple Unix systems
6. Prepare for new product related releases and assists with new initiatives and upgrades
7. Set up monitoring alerts and Respond to after-hours support. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
1. Graduate IT Engineer with minimum 3 years experience as Systems Administrator
2. Strong background in Linux/Unix administration and understanding of code and script
3. Strong technical problem solving skills and experience in IP networking and static routing FTP, SSH,SMTP, DNS, HTTP/S, DHCP, Syslog logging facility
4. Experience in a high-availability and mission critical environment
5. Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL database set up, monitor and back up.
6. Team player and ability to work independently and effectively under pressure in a high paced and energetic environment. Job Type: Full-time Salary: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
