Job Description

Lifeguard
Reports To: Recreation Manager / Facilities Supervisor / General Manager
Job Purpose:
To ensure the safety of all guests using the pool and surrounding recreational areas by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Surveillance: Maintain constant and active surveillance of guests in the pool area. Scan the water in a systematic pattern.
  • Safety Enforcement: Enforce all pool rules and regulations consistently and courteously to prevent accidents.
  • Emergency Response: Perform rescues and provide first aid, CPR, or AED emergency care as needed.
  • Preparedness: Inspect the pool area and equipment daily for any hazards or maintenance issues. Report concerns immediately.
  • Water Quality: Assist with basic pool water testing and chemical recording as trained.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and orderly pool deck and surrounding area.
  • Guest Service: Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and ensure a pleasant and safe environment for all guests.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a minimum age of 16 or 18 (as per local regulations).
  • Current Lifeguarding Certification from a recognized authority (e.g., American Red Cross).
  • Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certification.
  • Strong swimming skills and physical fitness.
  • Vigilant, responsible, and professional attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
