ROLE DESCRIPTION

The position is responsible to actively support and handle diverse range of legal and administrative tasks for the Legal function at BU level ensuring strict compliance to achieve smooth day to day affairs.

Role Details - Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Assist the Legal Director and Senior Legal Counsel in the preparation of legal advice to the Management of Majid Al Futtaim Properties, regarding Shopping Malls\' legal matters outlining the legal implications of the issues that Majid Al Futtaim Properties faces in carrying out its business, suggesting alternatives, if necessary, in order to ensure Majid Al Futtaim Properties interests are protected against any potential legal risk/liability and/or detrimental reputational risks.
  • Liaising, in coordination with the Legal Counsel, with external law firms in relation to certain legal documents such as briefing letters for filing of legal actions addressed to external lawyers, legal notices, arranging for the service of such notices, obtaining proofs of delivery and maintaining legal records of the same.
  • Support and assist the Senior Legal Counsel and legal team in negotiation, drafting and execution of various agreements prepared by the Legal team.
  • Review and arrange for substantiating legal documents to be forwarded to external law firms upon arranging the same from the internal stakeholders.
  • Review incoming correspondence and notify lawyers of relevant deadlines and notices as well as diarizing the same and providing reminders periodically to the legal team and external law firms where necessary.
  • Liaise with and follow-up with MAFP\'s internal departments / divisions on various matters, updating internal departments on key developments of legal matters and legal cases.
  • Provide miscellaneous support to the Senior Legal Counsel such as carrying out legal research, due diligence, review and proof reading of agreements and documents.
  • Ensure compliance with the MAFP SMBU\'s Code of Conduct, Departmental policies and HC Policies and Procedures at all times.
  • Be the advocate and ambassador of aligning and cascading the MAFP values in the assigned area of responsibility and ensure that it is adhered to and exhibit the same all the time.

Minimum experience
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of work experience in real estate development, preferably experience in legal Administrative matters in GCC in a similar role
Minimum Qualifications/education
  • Minimum University Degree. Paralegal degree in Law is highly desirable
