About the Programme

UOWD's School of Business offers two undergraduate programmes;

Bachelor of Business Administration

Bachelor of Business -

with specialisations in Marketing, Management, Human Resource Management, International Business, Business Analytics, Finance and Accounting


The business sector is one of the world's largest employers, offering varying roles and careers. Business plays an important role in evolving a complex global economy by providing solutions to problems in a sustainable and ethical way. The two degrees offer a broad education across all key aspects of the business environment. In addition to studying the essential core disciplines of accounting, economics, finance, management and marketing, the student can tailor their studies according to their interests by choosing electives from a particular Business discipline, or they can combine Business electives with subjects from other faculties. The degrees offer a holistic insight into management of business and how to work hand-in-hand with intermediaries and institutions. The degrees provide exposure to real world issues through opportunities to work on industry projects.


Both programs are fully accredited by the Ministry of Education in U.A.E. and in Australia. We have a good relationship with the home campus and are now finding opportunities to collaborate globally with Australia and other international campuses. In addition, we have recently moved to a brand-new campus with the latest technology and classroom design for student centred learning. This adjunct tutor position is a key hire and the candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and ongoing growth of both programmes.


About the Position

Position Profile

The University of Wollongong in Dubai invites applications for the position of

Instructor - Finance and Analytics

with the primary purpose of driving innovation and excellence in teaching and practical applications of the knowledge.


As an Instructor, you will have a significant opportunity to impact the areas of teaching, and community and industry engagement, all within a collaborative and supportive academic environment. You will collaborate closely with the UG Program Director as well as the Disciplinary Lead for the Finance and Accountancy and Analytics programs to cultivate a supportive and vibrant learning community, ensuring that our students receive exceptional educational experiences and support.

Key responsibilities / accountabilities

Prepare, deliver, and assess tutorials, practical classes, and workshops. Develop and produce teaching materials, including technology-enhanced learning resources with appropriate guidance from the subject/course coordinator. Handle administrative tasks related to teaching, such as student consultations, marking, assessment, and quality assurance. Conduct and publish research. Engage with industry and academic colleagues for collaborative research. Assist with student services, including recruitment, registration, onboarding, and support. Comply with all relevant UOWD policies and guidelines. Maintain balanced performance across academic responsibilities.

Qualifications & ExperienceA Master's degree in Finance, Data Analytics, or a closely related field Possession of relevant certifications such as CFA, FRM, or data analytics credentials is advantageous, Experience of teaching subjects like Accounting for Decision Making, Management Accounting, Information Systems in Accounting, Auditing etc. Proficiency in data analytics tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI, Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues, Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the field such as a record of scholarly learning and teaching including innovative curriculum design, teaching pedagogies, and/or positive engagement with community and industry, Demonstrated participation/capacity to participate in Governance and Service activity both within the University and external bodies (e.g., professional associations), * Fluency in English (both spoken and written).
