HVAC Technician
Job Summary:
The HVAC Technician installs, services, and repairs heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems that control the temperature and air quality in buildings. They work on everything from residential units to complex commercial climate control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and components (e.g., compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators).
- Perform diagnostic tests and inspections to identify system inefficiencies or failures.
- Replenish refrigerants and recover them in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Clean, adjust, and repair systems, and perform warranty services.
- Advise customers on how to maintain their systems for optimal efficiency.
- Comply with service standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
- EPA Section 608 Certification for handling refrigerants (or local equivalent).
- Diploma in HVAC technology or a related field from a technical school.
- Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles and electrical systems.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
