Job Description

Wood PLC is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager to support our operations and HR teams throughout the Projects Business Unit in the Middle East. Our successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Vice President, Middle East Projects, operational leadership, functional teams, and the wider Human Resources (HR) team to support and deliver core HR services, business partner advice and support the execution of the growth plans in region.

Current flexibility in work location with the role based in Abu Dhabi and Doha to support a hybrid work model. The role will also report to the Human Resources Senior Manager - Middle East and Africa region and will be a member of our Professional Services Team.

The successful candidate will have significant business partner experience and be responsible for a business area across multiple clients, services, and locations with the ability to work independently on most elements of the role.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

+ Deliver the HR execution plan in their area of responsibility with the aim of bringing the function closer to the business as trusted advisors, in support of short- and long-term goals, including future growth aspirations.

+ Provide consultative, problem-solving support for challenging business issues and ensure expert functional support is provided to the business in a timely and cost-effective manner.

+ Ensure all relevant metrics and reporting KPIs are actively monitored and reported on.

+ Maintain expert knowledge of functional specialty by staying abreast of best practices, legal developments, emerging trends, technological advancements, and benchmark comparisons.

+ Develops effective leadership in their business area, aligned to Wood culture, values and behaviours.

+ Drives robust people development and performance management throughout the business area, to build and retain skills needed to deliver the operational business in the short to medium term.

+ Deliver employee communication and support employee engagement.

+ Support and participate in emergency response activities ensuring effective HR presence.

+ Responsible for HR policy application, ensuring compliance with relevant group standards, regulatory requirements, and operating procedures.

+ Support the creation of an organisational culture which fosters innovation and collaboration, continuous improvement, and change.

+ Assure quality on the delivery of people solutions, proactively seeking and addressing customer feedback.

+ Lead by personal example and encourage all employees to conduct their activities in accordance with all applicable laws and the group's standards and policies.

+ 7+ years progressive Human Resources experience in business partnering, engagement, employee relations, talent management, compensation, benefits, and performance management.

+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business, or related field

+ Preference for experience with agile methodologies akin to Kanban

Job specific experience:

+ Experience in business-focused HR roles within a dynamic organisation

+ Experience of managing change, putting high emphasis on co-operation and business partnership across the company

+ Good knowledge of people practices and applicable legislative frameworks

+ Previous experience of dealing with industrial and employee relations issues

+ Working knowledge and experience of delivering HR services into Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia

Knowledge of:

+ Awareness of external factors, competitors and their impact on business strategy and success

+ Changing regulatory environment

+ Current and future industry trends

+ Experience of working with tenders and proposals to enable forward planning and enhance delivery
