Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity within our Procurement Function. The Regional Procurement Manager - Middle East & Asia Pacific will provide Procurement leadership for the Middle East and Asia Pacific region, being the key relationship owner and point of escalation for the regional business stakeholders and the line Manager for the regional teams. Responsible for directly managing a category/group of sub-categories and leveraging Aggreko's global footprint to maximise the value derived from procurement through regional buying activities.

Your key responsibilities:

Regional Procurement Manager - Middle East & Asia Pacific

  • Lead regional direct and indirect category procurement to gain buy in to category initiatives impacting the region and support execution through effective management of the regional procurement team and stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage an effective team of buyers, providing a clear definition of roles and responsibilities to support the execution of category strategies, agreed S2C projects, regional sourcing requirements (R2P), contract administration and regional supplier relationship management, as well as supporting regional project mobilization and emergent requirements.
  • Responsible for regional compliance to procurement process and policies, including the handoffs to the business and BPO, working with the Head of Global Procurement (and the Performance Analyst) to track and manage this including reporting at key governance forums, acting as an escalation point and putting in place corrective actions to overcome non-compliance.
  • Deliver with a continuous improvement mindset by recommending new and innovative ways (embedding best practice) of delivering regional procurement activities
  • Provide the regional business and global procurement teams with concise, insightful, and relevant procurement data and KPI's to drive appropriate decision making and cost assessments.
  • Manage Buyer resource allocation with global procurement and the regional businesses, assessing trade-offs between regional buying requirements and category initiatives.
  • Develop and execute sourcing plans to optimally leverage category suppliers and drive common standards across vendors to ensure equivalency of options within the category.
  • Key relationship owner and escalation point for regional Managing Director, Head of Operations and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Power Generation - Renewables [Solar] category.
  • Responsible for new procurement related software & systems implementation and associated training related to procurement activities across the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
  • Drive accuracy of master data on the regional suppliers, contracts & materials supported by the regional team.

Education / Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited college or university or equivalent years of work experience

Professional skills / experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a professional procurement role, preferably within a multi-national large organization with experience in a category manager and leadership roles (including people management).
  • Demonstrable detailed understanding of key suppliers and supply market dynamics.
  • Extensive experience of developing and implementing category strategies.
  • Experience of contract drafting, including development of schedules, commercials and other appropriate terms and conditions.
  • Extensive experience of monitoring, reporting and governance to improve compliance to procurement policy and processes.
