Job Category: Transport : How you will make an impact (Key responsibilities): 1. Material Handling & Operations
Operate forklifts and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to safely transport, stack, retrieve, and position goods within the warehouse and staging areas.
Load and unload goods from trucks, containers, and designated zones, ensuring accuracy and preventing damage during handling.
Maintain proper stacking, binning, and relocation of goods in assigned storage locations to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency.
2. Inventory Support
Assist in physical inventory counts, cycle checks, and stock movement verification to maintain accurate inventory records.
Update relevant documentation or handheld systems promptly after material movement to ensure real-time inventory tracking.
Report discrepancies in stock levels or product identification immediately to supervisors for corrective action.
3. Safety & Equipment Maintenance
Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and other equipment, checking for mechanical issues, fluid levels, and safety features, report any faults immediately.
Adhere strictly to warehouse safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, speed limits, and safe lifting practices, while maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
Handle fragile, hazardous, or high-value merchandise with extra care to prevent damage or loss.
4. Coordination & Compliance
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to ensure timely execution of loading, unloading, and material movement tasks.
Comply with company policies, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during all operations.
Support the Distribution Centre team during peak periods by assisting with manual handling tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in warehouse or logistics operations as a certified forklift operator.
Valid forklift operator license or certification in accordance with local regulatory standards.
Familiarity with RF scanners, warehouse inventory systems, and basic record-keeping practices.
Basic understanding of safety regulations, material handling procedures, and proper loading techniques.
Ability to work in shifts and adapt to flexible hours during peak operational periods.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and updating inventory records.
Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with warehouse staff.
Physical ability to operate equipment safely and perform manual tasks when required.
