ROLE SUMMARY Ensures policies and procedures for use in the location are legally compliant, in step with the objectives and ethics of the business and designed to be as simple as rules and fair application will allow. Will take the lead role on significant business change in country and advise others within Human Resources on policy development. What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do
Develops and implements high-impact tactical employee relations and broader employee engagement programmes, policies and processes that align to and support business requirements and medium-term strategy within a specific geography
Liaises with the business senior leadership team on employee relations issues and collaborates with local HR Business Partners and other Centres of Excellence to ensure that programmes adopted have a positive impact on employee relations
Supports senior management in the area of development of positive employee relations
Leads activity related to administration of legally required employee relations structures, collective labour agreements, all extra-contractual agreements and any other provision that may be applicable
Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures, as well as local laws and regulations related to employee relations
Provides guidance to HR Business Partners in the investigation and resolution of employee issues
Monitors employee relations trends and practices through the analysis of external and internal HR metrics
Leads development of geography specific plans and programs to respond to employment standards, labour law requirements and trends in own market
Tracks metrics for positive employee relations and proactively manages risk of employee relations issues
Directs the implementation of strategies and tactics for negotiating contracts
Co-ordinate the efforts of employment attorneys used by the organisation
Direct the development and delivery of training on positive employee relations as well as labour law
Builds capability within the HR function to deliver against objectives mentoring and developing talent
Essential for the role
Experience as Employee Relations practitioner/compliance & assurance
Experience dealing with Works Councils
3+ years working in an advisory capacity to senior managers and executives
Supervisory experience and proven experience driving change
Ability to work with all levels of the organization
Arabic speaking
Experience in GCC markets, especially KSA
Open for relocation for only candidates with GCC relevant market experience, exceptional approval is needed at further step
Desirable for the role
Experience managing the employee and labour relations function
