Job Summary

We are looking for a

motivated and disciplined Commis Chef

to support daily kitchen operations. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn, follow kitchen SOPs, maintain hygiene standards, and assist in food preparation and service execution. This role is ideal for entry-level chefs looking to grow in a professional kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Cooking

Assist in preparation of ingredients (chopping, marinating, portioning, mise-en-place) Support cooking of menu items as per standard recipes and plating guidelines Follow instructions from Sous Chef / Head Chef accurately Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
Kitchen Operations

Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and utensils Follow

HACCP & food safety standards

at all times Assist in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies Minimize wastage and handle ingredients responsibly
Hygiene & Safety

Comply with Dubai Municipality food safety regulations Follow personal hygiene and uniform standards Report any equipment malfunction or safety hazards immediately
Team Support

Coordinate with kitchen team during service hours Support senior chefs during peak operations Maintain a positive, cooperative attitude in the kitchen
Requirements & Qualifications Education & Certification

Diploma / Certificate in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management Basic knowledge of food safety & hygiene (HACCP awareness is a plus)
Experience

2 years' experience

in a commercial kitchen, cafe, or restaurant
Skills & Competencies

Basic cooking and knife skills Ability to follow SOPs and recipes Willingness to learn and take feedback Ability to work under pressure during busy service hours Team player with good communication skills
Physical & Work Conditions

Ability to stand for long hours Comfortable working in hot kitchen environment Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
Preferred (Added Advantage)

Experience in

Italian / Continental / Cafe / Breakfast kitchen

Experience in cloud kitchens or high-volume cafes UAE experience preferred but not mandatory
