Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the daily food preparation and basic cooking duties in the assigned kitchen section (hot/cold/steward area).
Prepare ingredients and mise-en-place as per chef instructions.
Follow standard recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistent food quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and kitchen equipment.
Support the Demi Chef de Partie or Chef de Partie in service and preparation tasks.
Store and handle food properly to ensure safety and freshness.
Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Report equipment issues or stock shortages to supervisors.
Assist with receiving, checking, and storing of kitchen supplies.
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.
1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in hotels or casual dining restaurants.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Understanding of food safety standards and HACCP guidelines.
Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment for long hours.
Willingness to learn and grow within the kitchen brigade.
Preferred Qualifications:
Culinary diploma or vocational training in food production.
Previous experience in hot or cold kitchen sections.
Exposure to international or multi-cuisine operations is a plus.
