The Commercial Manager is responsible for managing the contractual and commercial aspects of projects from inception to completion. The role involves leading a team to provide commercial services ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Success requires minimizing risk, achieving best value, and maximizing investment return. Regular interaction with clients to understand needs and provide sound advice is crucial, along with strategy implementation, relationship management, cost savings, and effective contract management.
What You Will Do: Technical
Provide commercial advice to internal clients and development division to ensure risk is minimized and best value is achieved.
Assist in the preparation of project development feasibility studies and presentations.
Advise on procurement of projects and consultancy services to meet time, quality, and cost requirements.
Manage claims and disputes in compliance with contractual terms and timelines.
Prepare Requests for Proposal/Invitation to bid documents based on client needs and lead tender negotiations.
Adapt standard form contracts in conjunction with Group legal for consultant and contractor agreements.
Report on portfolio costs, budgets, and risks monthly.
Provide and manage pre and post contract Quantity Surveying Services including cost estimating and final account settlement.
Monitor project insurance policies related to construction works.
People
Effectively lead and motivate the commercial team.
Ensure team understands Procurement service, processes, and procedures.
Identify training needs for staff development.
Lead, coach, develop, and motivate staff to achieve their potential.
Process
Review, recommend, and implement new or improved administrative procedures.
Adapt standard form of contracts for procurement of various agreements.
Comply with organizational forms and processes for internal approvals.
Implement processes to maximize efficiency in procurement cycle time.
Customer
Provide complete service interface between customers, Commercial & Procurement department, and contractors/suppliers.
Ensure service requirements are met in accordance with budget and program.
