CIVIL SUPERVISOR
Job Title: Civil Supervisor (or Site Supervisor)
Reports To: Project Manager, Construction Manager
Summary: A Civil Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for directly overseeing all on-site civil construction activities. They act as the critical link between the engineering plans and the physical construction, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• On-Site Management: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of foremen, tradespeople, laborers, and subcontractors on the construction site.
• Implementation: Interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide the work crew and ensure accurate implementation of the design.
• Scheduling: Plan work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure the availability of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Quality Control: Inspect work in progress and upon completion to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications.
• Safety Enforcement: Enforce strict compliance with all company and regulatory health and safety policies and procedures. Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Progress Reporting: Monitor progress and report daily to the Project Manager on status, productivity, and any issues or delays.
• Problem-Solving: Resolve on-site problems and conflicts quickly and efficiently, making adjustments to work plans as needed.
• Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact on-site for inspectors, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field is a plus.
• Significant proven experience (5-10 years) in civil construction, with several years in a supervisory or foreman role.
• Extensive practical knowledge of construction techniques, equipment, materials, and safety protocols.
• Ability to read and understand complex construction documents and drawings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a diverse crew.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent is often required.
