CIVIL HELPER
Job Title: Civil Helper (Construction Laborer)
Department: Construction / Civil
Reports To: Site Supervisor / Foreman
Job Summary:
A Civil Helper is an essential support role on a construction site, providing manual labor assistance to skilled tradespeople such as masons, carpenters, and electricians. They are responsible for preparing worksites, moving materials, cleaning areas, and performing basic tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the construction project.
Key Responsibilities:

• Site Preparation & Cleanup: Prepare construction sites by cleaning, clearing debris, and setting up barriers. Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment by sweeping, removing waste, and organizing tools and materials.
• Material Handling: Load, unload, identify, and distribute building materials, tools, and equipment to the appropriate locations according to project needs.
• Assisting Skilled Workers: Provide direct assistance to skilled tradesmen by fetching materials, holding items in place, mixing mortar or concrete, and performing other basic tasks as directed.
• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain non-power and basic power tools and equipment under supervision (e.g., vibrators, mixers).
• Digging & Trenching: Assist in digging trenches, backfilling holes, and compacting earth to prepare for construction or plumbing.
• Following Instructions: Follow instructions from supervisors to perform tasks efficiently and safely.

Qualifications & Skills:

• No formal education required; on-the-job training is provided.
• Physical strength and stamina to perform demanding manual labor.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction materials.
• Awareness of and adherence to basic safety protocols.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.
