CIVIL ENGINEER
Job Title: Civil Engineer
Reports To: Senior Civil Engineer, Project Director
Summary: A Civil Engineer is a licensed professional who designs, plans, and oversees the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, airports, tunnels, and water supply systems. They apply engineering principles to ensure projects are safe, sustainable, resilient, and economically feasible.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Planning: Develop detailed designs, plans, and specifications for civil projects using computer-aided design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
• Site Analysis: Conduct site investigations to assess feasibility, topography, soil conditions, and environmental impact.
• Calculations: Perform complex calculations to determine grade requirements, load and stress factors, water flow rates, and material stresses.
• Project Management: Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources. Prepare cost estimates and project schedules.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and secure necessary permits.
• Construction Oversight: Provide technical advice and oversight during construction, reviewing work for compliance with design documents and specifications.
• Team Collaboration: Lead or work within a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, contractors, and urban planners.
• Reporting: Prepare and present reports, maps, and other documentation to stakeholders and public officials.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred and often required for senior roles.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation) and civil design tools (e.g., Civil 3D).
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and project management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client interaction.
• Ability to solve complex problems and make sound decisions.
