Overview

The Chief Watch Officer (CWO) shall have overall responsibility for Regional Network Operation Support Center (RNOSC) management, and shall direct the operation of the RNOSC to include real time monitoring, level one troubleshooting, restoral and reporting as well as all internal management functions (e.g., shift scheduling, personnel management, and training management). The Chief Watch Officer shall develop and maintain continuity of operations (COOP) plans, determine future operational capability requirements, and oversee installation and implementation of hardware and software required to meet these requirements. The successful candidate should be a self-starter, someone who will proactively find and address issues, not waiting for tasks to be assigned, someone who will be a leader within the NOSC.

Responsibilities

+ Provide direct support to the RNOSC for the management of all networks and systems under the responsibility of the RNOSC.

+ Provide technical and operation support to functional users for managing, monitoring and maintaining situational awareness of networks and systems under the responsibility of the RNOSC.

+ Assist in preparing and presenting networks and systems outage reports for the RNOSC to various agencies.

+ Assist in monitoring and tracking all networks and systems under the responsibility of the RNOSC and assist in completing outage trend analysis reports.

+ Assist in providing operational status reporting to the South West Asia Cyber Center (SWACC) relating to network operations.

+ Participate in inter-theater information dissemination, and provide initial response (Level 1 triage) on outages, degradations, or other events affecting networks and systems under the responsibility of the RNOSC, and assist in assigning trouble tickets to the appropriate responsible unit.

+ Enforce information assurance in accordance with AR 25-2 and shall provide initial triage on suspicious activities and evaluate them in accordance with policies and procedures.

+ Generate reports and update trouble tickets.

+ Previous experience working in a Network Operations Center environment.

Qualifications

+ Minimum Qualifications

+ High School Diploma. One year of experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

+ Degree in IT or related field required.

+ Experience

+ This position requires a minimum of three (3) years' of experience in a supervisory or managerial position in an information technology (IT) field.

+ Certifications

+ This position requires candidates to adhere to DoD 8570.01-M. All candidates are required to meet the certifications as outlined below:

+ This position requires ITIL V3 Foundation Certification.

+ IAT Level: IAT II

+ Baseline: CASP, CCNA Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GSEC, GCED, GCIH, Security+ ce, SSCP

+ CE: Not required
