Electrical Chargehand
Responsibilities:
Supervise and carry out electrical maintenance, repair, and installation works in the NMDC workshop.
Allocate daily jobs to electricians and helpers and ensure work is completed safely and on time.
Maintain and troubleshoot LT/HT panels, motors, generators, lighting systems, and workshop machinery.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, NMDC procedures, and statutory regulations.
Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment.
Coordinate with mechanical and maintenance teams for integrated workshop activities.
Maintain records of maintenance jobs, breakdowns, spares usage, and work permits.
Identify faults, analyze root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Guide and train junior electricians to improve skill levels and safety awareness.
Report major issues, material requirements, and progress updates to the Electrical Supervisor/Engineer.
Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering
5 years of relevant experience.
