Role Summary
The Category Manager is responsible for managing multi-dimensional wholesale plans, including sales, margin, and inventory, to maximize profitability and sell-through. The role oversees deliveries, allocations, and replenishment activities in line with agreed wholesale strategies, ensuring the right products reach the right partners at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure accurate demand forecasting for wholesale partners by analyzing historical sales trends, order patterns, and regional market performance.
Monitor sell-in and sell-out performance by account, identifying risks and opportunities to improve sell-through and reduce excess or aged inventory.
Coordinate closely with Logistics to ensure on-time delivery and accurate fulfillment of wholesale orders.
Develop and maintain weekly and monthly WSSI reports covering sales, stock, and intake for wholesale accounts.
Support the planning and execution of end-of-season stock clearance activities, ensuring alignment with margin targets and wholesale partner commitments.
Collaborate with Finance to validate margins and assess the commercial impact of discounts, markdowns, and promotional activity.
Build strong interdepartmental relationships to enable effective information sharing, alignment, and timely follow-up on actions.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with wholesale partners to understand demand drivers, product preferences, and market trends, particularly within beauty and skincare.
Candidate Requirements
Graduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
2-4 years of experience in a Category Manager or Distribution Planner role.
Mandatory experience within a retail environment.
Previous experience in beauty and skincare retail is required.
Hands-on experience in wholesale and distribution operations is mandatory.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, margin, and inventory data.
Good stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
