The Camp Supervisor (Camp Boss) is responsible for the overall management of the labor camp, ensuring proper discipline, welfare, health, and safety of workers. The role involves overseeing daily camp operations, enforcing camp rules, managing timely departure of labor to work sites, and ensuring the timely distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other essentials.
Key Responsibilities:
Camp Management:
Oversee the daily operations of the labor camp to ensure cleanliness, security, and order.
Monitor the living conditions and ensure all facilities (water, electricity, sanitation) are maintained.
Keep records of all residents and ensure accurate data on occupancy
Labor Movement Coordination:
Ensure timely wake-up calls and on-time departure of laborers to work sites.
Coordinate with transportation teams and site supervisors for smooth mobilization.
PPE and Supplies Management:
Ensure all workers receive PPE kits before site deployment.
Maintain inventory of PPE and coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.
Disciplinary Control:
Enforce camp rules and regulations strictly.
Address misconduct, disputes, or any behavioral issues and escalate to HR if necessary.
Maintain daily reports of violations and actions taken.
Health and Safety:
Monitor the health and hygiene conditions in the camp.
Coordinate with first aid staff or medical professionals for worker health issues.
Conduct regular safety awareness sessions.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain daily attendance and departure logs.
Submit regular reports to management on camp status, issues, and improvements.
Update records of PPE issuance, disciplinary actions, and maintenance logs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in managing labor camps or accommodation facilities.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to handle conflicts and maintain discipline.
Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
Preferred:
Previous experience in a construction environment.
Multilingual skills (English, Hindi, Arabic or others as required).
