Assistant Restaurant Manager
Job Summary:
The Assistant Restaurant Manager is the second-in-command, supporting the Restaurant Manager in all aspects of the operation. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless daily service, upholding the highest standards of quality and hospitality, and leading the front-of-house team to achieve financial and guest satisfaction targets. The Assistant Manager is a leader, a problem-solver, and a key driver of the restaurant's culture.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:
  • Open and/or close the restaurant, ensuring all procedures are followed.
  • Oversee daily floor operations during shifts, managing seating, flow, and service tempo.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels for front-of-house supplies.
  • Team Leadership & Training:
  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate the front-of-house team (hosts, servers, runners).
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate menu changes, specials, and service goals.
  • Assist in the training of new hires on service standards, POS systems, and menu knowledge.
  • Provide real-time coaching and performance feedback to team members.
  • Guest Experience:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Greet and engage with guests, ensuring a welcoming and memorable experience.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout service and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Assist with scheduling front-of-house staff based on forecasted business levels.
  • Manage cash handling procedures and daily reconciliation of sales.
  • Generate and analyze sales reports to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Help manage labor costs and other operational expenses.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in a supervisory role within a high-volume restaurant.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant operations, POS systems, and basic financial principles.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
