Position Overview

The Assistant Bar Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager and Head Bartender in leading day-to-day bar operations. This is a hands-on management role in a high-end whisky lounge, ensuring smooth service delivery, staff coordination, and guest satisfaction. The role requires leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to embody the brand's Scottish heritage in a modern Dubai luxury setting.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

Oversee bar operations during shifts, ensuring service standards are consistently exceeded. Support in scheduling, stock control, and cash/closing procedures. Assist in compliance with Dubai DIFC licensing, health, and safety regulations.

Team Supervision & Training

Lead and motivate bartenders, servers, and barbacks. Support onboarding and ongoing training with a focus on whisky knowledge and guest experience. Provide feedback and coaching to maintain team performance.

Guest Experience & Brand Alignment

Act as a senior host on the floor, ensuring guests receive exceptional service. Promote brand's values: storytelling, cultural authenticity, and premium service. Handle VIP guests, private tastings, and brand-led whisky experiences.

Event & Programme Support

Assist in delivering weekly themed events (Women & Whisky, storytelling nights, curated music evenings). Work with the GM on developing promotions, activations, and whisky rituals.

Business & Reporting

Track daily performance, sales targets, and staff productivity. Report to the General Manager with insights and recommendations for improvements.

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum 4-6 years' experience in premium or luxury hospitality, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or assistant management role. Proven leadership skills in motivating and managing a multicultural team. Strong understanding of whisky, cocktails, and high-end bar service. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to problem-solve under pressure and maintain standards in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in POS systems, scheduling tools, and basic financial reporting.

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
