JOB PURPOSE

As part of DP World\'s strategy of making global trade flow, and providing end to end logistics solutions to BCOs, we are investing substantially in various products and solutions. These products and solutions are expected to grow DP World revenue in new businesses from $6B to $12B in 5 years. As a result of new product build out, and due to acquisitions, we have a host of systems and products in various parts of the world, all of which need standard platforms and infrastructure to run on.

The VP of Core Platforms will be responsible for all the standard platforms and infrastructure across DP World, including acquisitions, ports and terminals, and logistics entities. They will lead the central teams for data platform, data sciences, application infrastructure, P&T Infrastructure, corporate applications, cyber security and quality assurance. The regional IT infrastructure across all entities will also be led by the Head of Core Platforms.

Their operating budget will be upwards of 150M-200M USD.

They will manage a talented in-house team of infrastructure engineers, cyber security specialists, data scientists, quality assurance engineers to be able to deliver a stable platform on which to various businesses will run and contribute to revenue growth. They will reduce redundancies in the teams and in infrastructure and save costs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Own the entire infrastructure, cyber security, data platform, data sciences, quality assurance for all DP World entities worldwide, including acquisitions and Ports and Terminals. This is 100s of DP World sites globally.
• Standardize infrastructure by working with regional CEOs and BU heads, save on redundant costs.
• Responsible for a budget of 150-200M+ USD, with annual targets to achieve in terms of cost savings.
• Will establish KPIs for platforms, and drive for YoY improvement in those.
• Lead a team of nearly 250 technology staff to deliver on the cost reduction and standardization KPIs.
• While being very strategic, also provide a very \'Hands-on\' technical leadership and mentoring for engineers
• Be the voice of DP World Technology for infrastructure, both internally in championing initiatives, and externally in conferences, events and in front of customers
• Keep DP World and its entities secure from cyber attacks
• Have a deep understanding, both low level and high level, across a swathe of technologies
• Be the single point of contact for all core platform needs globally

OTHER * Responsible for the direct management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound.

• Act as an ambassador for DP World always when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World\'s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World\'s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

In order to give credible support to the organisation and be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following:

• Bachelors in Computer Science or related field from a reputed institution. Masters degree is a plus.
• 20+ years of experience in the software development field, working in infrastructure
• 15+ years of experience leading infrastrucutre teams in a managerial capacity, of which 5+ years in a leadership executive role.
• Having managed budgets in the range of 150-200M USD in prior work.
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills, including the ability to communicate technology choices and tradeoffs clearly and persuasively to the executive team.
• Ability to seamlessly work across functions, businesses, cultures, and geographies. Demonstrated ability to drive alignment across organizations.
• Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced environment, working on ambiguous and challenging projects
• Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business needs, and customer expectations
• Be able to stand in front of external customers, media etc as an external spokesperson for technology @ DP World
• Experience with tools and standards of software development, testing, deployment and operational excellence
• Strategic thinking, yet be in the details when required
• Ability to manage a large organization with KPIs to measure performance
