Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and supervise day-to-day operation of tug machinery to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter cleaning, and leak repairs
  • Report faults or potential issues to the Foreman Tug Fleet / In-charge to minimize downtime and resource wastage
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts and machinery components, submitting material requests as needed
  • Ensure all maintenance activities align with company standards and safety protocols
  • Support planned maintenance system (PMS) routines and maintain cleanliness of machinery spaces
  • Collaborate with foremen, supervisors, and crew to maintain safe and efficient operations
  • Inspect materials before use and report any damages or defects
  • Participate in departmental training programs and maintain technical proficiency
  • Follow daily operational instructions to ensure seamless tug performance
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and promote safety awareness across work areas
Ideal Profile
  • Minimum 12th grade with Science stream; Degree or Marine Diploma preferred
  • STCW.3 (Engine) Restricted certification required
  • 3-5 years of experience in port or tug operations as a Tug Engineer
  • Strong technical knowledge of dual fuel diesel engines and marine propulsion systems
  • Proven ability to perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Safety-conscious with a proactive maintenance approach
