Primary objective The Technical Director will have a deep knowledge and proven experience in Decarbonization and Circularity technologies and support the delivery of consultancy assignments worldwide. Using your deep technical knowledge of the technologies used in these sectors, you will contribute (in close cooperation with other disciplines) to the development of feasibility and conceptual studies, preliminary design & cost estimate studies, techno-economic and new energy production models, technical Due Diligences and the provision of technical advisory services in accordance with the project requirements and any applicable statutory and regulatory specification. The position will be based in Abu Dhabi, with frequent travels to other GCC locations.

Specific accountabilities Leads large workstreams/areas of a technical assignment, including the execution of the following technical activities: Feasibility studies for the implementation of either new energy derivates or circular production pathways. Optimisation of the process or application of Licensed technology that reduces the levelized cost of the corresponding energy carrier. Assessing potential market offtakers and offtake volumes for each particular project. Supporting in the site selection for the implementation of production plants taking into account safety issues. Conceptual design of facilities, either integrated or not with other industries, entailing the development of heat and material balances, equipment and pipelines sizing and layouts. Technologists' evaluation processes, including Licensor contact and techno-economic tabulations. Support in the cost estimate of facilities. FEED phase support as a Decarbonization or Circularity SME. Develops internal team members technical capabilities. Participates in the preparation and delivery of proposals and presentations. Contributes to the development and management of client relationships. Deliver and/or review of technical inputs and reports, timely and with the adequate quality. Ensure compliance with Worley's standards and procedures, and that the right systems are in place and applied to the project. Support the development, preparation, implementation and follow-up of various plans (e.g. schedule, quality, execution, project and interface management) throughout the project during different stages and with all components.

Essential skills/experience Bachelor of Engineering required. Experience in industrial projects engineering development. Experience in decarbonization or circular projects development Technical competences: Deep knowledge of decarbonization, carbon capture and circular products and markets state of art. Good knowledge of process design calculations including the use of software such as HYSYS or similar. Good knowledge of international policies and regulatory framework. Good knowledge of carbon capture technology routes and carbon transport mechanisms. Good knowledge of traditional (grey) hydrogen and oxygen production will be valuable. Knowledge of carbon capture and processes such as ammonia, methanol, synthetic fuels production will be valuable. Knowledge of compressors, water treatment plants and gas storage systems design will be valuable. Knowledge of cost estimating and/or safety modelling will be valuable. Technical Advisory experience (e.g. PMC, Owners Engineer, LTA, etc.) is preferred, but not mandatory. International experience is required (multinational companies or across different countries and professional cultures). Middle East / Arabian Gulf experience is an asset. Pro-active, practical hands-on approach and results-driven. Works with great degree of independence, conferring with manager on complex assignments. Technical / hands-on profile with good communication are key requirements for this role. Fluid English is a requirement (written and spoken) and Spanish is preferred (written and spoken); other languages (Arabic, French, others) are a plus. Must be a self-starter, with the ability to take responsibility for its own work, open to creativity. Good communication skills and an aptitude for taking initiatives are essential, as is the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. Proficiently communicates complex ideas and concepts. Ability to persuade and influence others and structure/deliver presentations and workshops.
