Overview of the role:

Staying up-to-date with the technical aspects of our products, particularly forklifts, and demonstrating the ability to efficiently diagnose and resolve issues on the initial service call, providing timely and effective solutions.

What you will do:

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues with forklifts.
• Efficiently diagnose faults and recommend effective solutions, aiming to get it right on the first attempt.
• Proactively identify potential root causes of problems while attending jobs, whether in the workshop or the field.
• Utilize tools and adhere to best practices as outlined in service manuals to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Read, comprehend, and implement instructions from workshop manuals, using service checklists where applicable and available.
• Take accountability for resolving complaints related to both mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Be responsible for the effective utilization of online diagnostic tools to aid in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

• Mechanical and Electrical Expertise: Proficient in mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to diagnose and repair forklifts effectively.
• Diagnostic Abilities: Skilled in fault diagnosis, capable of recommending efficient and accurate solutions, emphasizing first-time resolution.
• Proactive Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to identifying potential issues and their root causes, ensuring preventative action.
• Safety Conscious: Prioritizing safety in all repair and maintenance activities, following established safety protocols.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication with colleagues and customers to ensure clarity and understanding during repairs and issue resolution.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure all aspects of the repair and maintenance process are thorough and accurate.

What equips you for the role:

• Extensive Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing forklifts, demonstrating a deep understanding of their mechanical and electrical systems.
• Education and Apprenticeship: A solid educational foundation, which may include basic and technical education and/or completion of an apprenticeship program, providing the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
• Trade Certificate/Diploma: Possession of a trade certificate or diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering, validating your formal education in the field.
• Proven Technical Expertise: A track record of proven technical expertise in independently servicing, repairing, and overhauling components, showcasing your ability to handle complex forklift maintenance tasks effectively.
• Valid Driving License: A valid driving license for manual light vehicles, ensuring you have the mobility to access work locations and transport equipment or materials as necessary.
