We are currently on the lookout for an experienced drilling equipment Technical Support Engineer to be based in our Dubai office. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to inspection, repair and service process
- Provide technical support to workshop and on site teams
- Provide technical support to sales proposals
- Engineer and review project work packs and content
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals
- Attend customer project meetings
- Conduct team pre-mobilisation meetings
- Review and approve equipment inspection reports
- Troubleshoot and problem solve drilling equipment faults
- Make recommendations for reuse, repair and replacement of parts
- Instruct and supervise third party vendors
- Support and mentor more junior technical colleagues
- Support development of business technical capability
- Other duties as may reasonably be expected by the management
- Qualified mechanical engineer or time served mechanical maintenance engineer
- Drilling equipment manufacturing training advantageous
- Significant experience providing technical support in repair of drilling equipment
- Minimum 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of rig operations
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals
- Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers, vernier gauges and dial indicators
- IT literate and able to complete and review detailed inspection reports using company software
