Job description

As a part of our Gas & Process Aftermarket portfolio, we responsible for providing support to all our global customers for LNG carrier ships. We currently have an opening for a Technical Support Engineer. In this exciting and challenging role, you will be part of a dynamic global LNG team dedicated to providing word class customer service. Primary responsibility will be providing our customers technical support in a professional and prompt manner to meet their requirements for Aftermarket support.
Responsibilities:

  • Ensure technical support queries are executed with the highest quality and within anticipated timeframe.
  • Interact with global marine customers to solve their technical problems related to GAP machines.
  • Perform technical studies and root cause analysis on Gas & Process equipment installed in marine vessels.
  • Prepare detailed technical support reports and maintain all documentation required for the report.
  • Provide mentorship and training to service engineers for LNG marine business regarding Gas & Process LNG equipment.
  • Assist in developing training modules for service engineers for LNG business.
  • Liaise with global Sales & Operation teams and relevant product company for required technical information.
  • Assist in the preparation of customer quotations as required.
  • Work closely with Sales and Operation Managers to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Liaison with our potential vendors to locally procure components are needed.
  • Coordinate with service planners to ensure timely accurate technical support cases are transferred to service engineers.
  • Provide a timely and accurate feedback about the technical support cases progress to designated managers.
  • Attend site/vessel jobs as required in case service engineers are not able to resolve technical issue.
  • Attend the customer meeting either Face to face or on a teams call, whenever required.
  • Expected to do business travels are required.
  • Comply with all applicable ISO standards.
  • Adhere to all Atlas Copco safety and environmental policies.
  • Generate monthly reports as required.
  • Perform assigned duties in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.
  • Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done in a timely manner and to establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary.
  • Complete any additional tasks assigned by designated managers.

What we expect of you?
Experience requirements
  • Mechanical, electrical/electronic, or instrumentation & controls degree
    or relevant through experience.
  • PLC & HMI experience would be an additional advantage
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years proven experience with rotating equipment, turbo machinery and Screw Compressors.
  • Solid experience with GAP service and technical support
  • Proven track record of delivering results

Knowledge
  • Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus)
  • knowledge and understanding of LNG vessel Reliquification and Boil of Gas Applications
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products, particular with Word and Excel
  • Knowledge with CRM platforms

Educational requirements
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical or equivalent through experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly flexible and willing to adapt working time to business requirements
